Health & Safety
If you are the owner or a director of a business you are personally responsible for the health and safety of your employees.
Heath and Safety management carries a great deal of responsibility, it requires skills and knowledge most owners or directors do not have and a commitment of time most owners or directors cannot spare. The easiest solution is to delegate Health and Safety to a manager. But under UK law "Responsibility" remains with the owners or directors unless they can clearly demonstrate that the manager has the skills and time to do the job properly and the authority to make changes.
Whether you are a business owner, director or a manager responsible for Health and Safety MK Fire Ltd can help you. We can provide the best support and advice available.
You should be able to answer yes to all the following questions:
Do you have a person responsible for health and safety who is trained, qualified and competent? If not, your company is likely to be failing to conform to legal requirements, to have a below standard level of health and safety and is probably in need of advice and/or assistance. Do you have a safety policy and detailed arrangements? If not, and your company employs five or more people, they are failing to satisfy the basic legal requirement from which all other health and safety matters are managed. Do you have risk assessments, COSHH assessments and safe systems of work? If not, your company is failing to fulfil some important and fundamental statutory requirements which the Health and Safety Executive are currently paying particular attention to. Does your company have a visibly good standard of health and safety? If not, your company is likely to be in breach of a number of statutory health and safety duties and would benefit from a confidential audit to advise you where improvements are needed. If there is a "No" to any of the above questions you need to talk to MK Fire Ltd now.
